Welcoming Gina to the MNBP!
She is curious. She is smart. And she has humor!
Our conversation will make you laugh and will hopefully make you think twice about food, culture, and tradition. Gina is a writer. She is a visual story teller and teacher AND she is at the helm of the Heirloom Food Project (HFP).
The concept behind the HFP is to pass on a resilient food culture to the next generation. And it aims for us to consider:
What is our food culture?
What is worth holding onto?
What do I want to pass on?
Our conversation includes discussion about the food culture in the U.S., which expands way beyond the golden arches, as the food culture in the U.S. is highly regional and depends on the background of each family. The HFP nudges us to look at our ancestors and think about what they ate while marrying it with current/modern habits.
Gina gently reminds us to:
Explore every day.
And ask ourselves: How do I feel and what do I need?
Then just do it.
Again, thank you for tuning in. I appreciate your feedback and words so please feel free to reach out to me. Do not be shy!
