Confidentiality

Confidentiality is essential to the therapeutic process and the therapeutic alliance. In accordance, confidentiality is stringently maintained except in instances that threaten life, abuse towards a minor or elder, or in other instances that are enumerated by law. Information pertaining to clients or about clients will not be released without written authorization permitting such disclosure.

At times, therapists consult other therapists concerning a specific facet of treatment for their professional opinion. If this is done, your confidentiality will be upheld and no identifying information will be disclosed.

All other policies

All of my policies relating to the counseling process including confidentiality are located in my initial paperwork or “intake” paperwork that is received by the client before meeting for the first counseling session and are reviewed together during the first session to ensure complete understanding of the policies. Questions and concerns are welcome at any point during the process of therapy.
